In case you missed the announcement, 2016 finalist Can Xue received the 2015 Best Translated Book Award for The Last Lover translated by Annelise Finegan Wasmoen.
The Kenyan president Uhuru Kenyatta has asked Ngũgĩ wa Thiong’o (a juror for the 1998 Neustadt Prize) to return home. The President states that Kenya has changed into a land of opportunity and the country needs people of all talents to build a stronger nation.
Jenny Holzer featured verses from Neustadt prizewinner Octavio Paz’s poetry in her latest installation at the New York Botanical Garden. The project was in conjunction with the Frida Kahlo: Art, Garden, Life exhibit.

Juan Felipe Herrera was appointed the poet laureate of the United States this week. Herrera is the first Latino poet to receive this honor.
